Sadly, another gone

I was shocked to hear that still not everybody knew about the thread I made earlier about Lynn being controlled by a RL-male.. was even in pretty much all my profiles....

well, weeks after the announcement, one of the Clean Energy NOW! volunteers suddenly leaves the group over it. Must say, it comes as a surprise, but guess we should respect his decision.

Pity, was planning on redoing my avatar (expect the pic to change soon) to avoid any further confusion.

Consequences

Well, it was to be expected: the post from yesterday has had it's consequences. I got fired from my job. Can't say I blame the boss, but it still sucks. Now I need to find another source of Lindens.

A little insight in the person behind Lynn Evelyn (a.k.a. Coming out of the closet)

Many people have asked me many questions about who Lynn Evelyn is IRL. Where she is from, how old she is, what she does for a living.

Wow, shocker.
However, there is indeed someone behind Lynn, so who is that?

I am 27 years old, come from the tiny nation of the Netherlands (known for its wooden shoes, tulips, Amsterdam and "legal" drugs). I study business (in my final year of my Masters). And..yes, you may have seen it on SLprofiles.com already, I am male.

Why would someone start SL with an avatar from the opposite sexe? Well, a number of reasons. First off, I wanted to keep SL and RL strictly separated. I have seen some instances in games where info about RL is given out, only to be used against the person in question (threats and such). Also, I just read about SL in some magazine, and figured I'd just sign up, goof around a bit and leave again in a few days.

So if I am goofing, why not do a little experimenting at the same time? Let's grab this opportunity to indeed see the world from the female perspective. Only for a few days, right? Nobody would get hurt by it anyway...

Well, I was wrong about the "leaving in a few days bit". Despite the horrible QA by LL, I am still around, and I have met a lot of people who I like to hang out with. So to them, I say: my apologies for not being truthfull about my real life (allthough, so far..nobody actually ASKED me LOL).

Anyway, the rest of what you have seen in SL is definately how I am IRL (except the flying, I think).

New land

Woohooo

Clean Energy NOW! has received a great gift from Mordecai Scaggs: thanks to his generousity, we can now use about 1500 sq.m. of land for CEN.

I spent a few days building the classroom and the exhibition area, but I also have installed some nice things for people to spend some time: a bar/dance area, a fishing pond, where people can fish for L$2 and win objects or cash (up to L$100!). I also put in a Hippiepay ATM, so people can earn free money (and the commission is very welcome, of course).

We had a party on sunday, and it was really cool! Next party on friday :)

Slowed down for a while

Wow, the last few days were strange.

I didn't really do much of what I had planned, because I kept running into people :)

We found a few people who said they'd be glad to write some articles, and articles we need, for the site, which is currently under construction. Also, we have some guys who would like to do some events :D

Absolutely GREAT!

But, sadly... in the process, we didn't get any events up. This should change, and it should change rapidly

Clean Energy NOW! developing

A lot of things have happened recently.

First of all, we did a few events, of which one was called "PO - the end of the world as we know it?". There was quite a nice interest for it, especially as we had not done that much promotion. Makes me feel quite happy and confident that we are doing something worthwhile :)

After the event, I had to go to my dancing job again (a girl has to make ends meet...) and was approached by somebody. Well, that happens a lot, and usually it is just some guy who wants to get more than a dance, so I figured this would be the same. And yep, there we had it: he asked me to "come for a walk".

Well, I wasn't really planning on doing it, because..well.. girls should not go for a walk with a perfect stranger, but then he decided to tip me. Let's just say it was enough for me to be pursuaded to go for a twenty minute walk.

He brought me to this absolutely BEAUTIFULL sim, mountains, flowers, a volcano, simple WONDERFULL (will try to find the location for you guys) and started a long monologue about making money in SL, clean energy, climate, businesspeople, money, sims.

I had no idea where he was going to, but this sure didn't sound like your average customer in a strip-bar. Slowly, I realized that he might be different. And I must say, his ideas are quite good, well, they are totally wicked. Even if he is not who he claims to be (a distinct possibility in SL), this chat will have helped Clean Energy NOW! further. But...if he IS who he claims to be...then WOW...

The twenty minute break turned into a 4 hour non-stop chatsession, which for me, is an absolute record! One of the more interesting talks I have had so far :)

Also yesterday, I received an email stating that we are going to get a website soon!

YAY

Time to relax

Clean Energy NOW! turns out to be quite a lot of work (which is no problem). Spent the last days talking to people, asking them to put a single prim item on their land, enabling visitors to get a notecard and/or to give a donation.

But, it is also time for relaxation... so I visited this professor, and tried out a few machines. Should not have done that, because I suddenly found myself in a town called Sigil, in 1864, being a deputy sheriff.

Been trying to avoid getting shot by outlaws for a while, and am now able to go from now to 1860 and to the present. I will drop by there more often, it's fun :)

But now, I am back in the Clean Energy NOW! Headquarters, preparing for tomorrows event: PO - the end of the world as we know it?

Clean Energy NOW! formed

Great news!
During one of the events where I sold my clean energy products at discounts, a group of people came by who were enthusiastic about the concept. So, I started the group Clean Energy NOW! We have a few guys who are interested in helping out, but there is a lot to do:

1. Build up a name
2. Setup the forums (we have http://s8.invisionfree.com/Clean_Energy_NOW/) already, but it still needs a skin (any invisionfree-wizards out there?) and more content.
3. We will need a good range of lectures and discussions, so we can reach as many people as we can!

Another cool thing: I was interviewed yesterday by a girl who said she works for "one of the biggest Brazilian Newspapers". I hope we can get in there, so that more people will join in our efforts and we will manage to make a big change :D
